Harris joined the Governing Body in 2014/15, and brings a range of experience from the education, community development and youth leadership sectors. He currently works as a programme manager for Spirit of 2012, a grant-giving charity set up to sustain the social legacy of the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics. Prior to this, he was Education Development Manager at World ORT – an educational NGO – managing an international leadership programme for young people.
Harris is enthusiastic about playing a role in enabling today’s generation of local young people to thrive and flourish in their school lives. As the governor with specific responsibility for Looked After Children Looked After, it is Harris’ role to monitor and champion the educational achievement of any such pupils at the school. Harris takes a report to the Governing Body each term on the progress of these pupils and raises awareness of any issues arising.
