Elstree & Borehamwood Town council Performing Arts Festival

On Tuesday 21st June our choir and dance club took part in the performing arts festival as part of Elstree & Borehamwood town councils festival fortnight. The children performed a song and lyrical dance in the first half of the show and a street dance in the second. The 48 children performed beautifully and their behaviour was exceptional. The children had a fantastic morning watching performances from other local schools and celebrating the performing arts in our community, this event has been running for decades in Borehamwood and was established by our chair of governor’s Mr Cooper whilst he was head teacher at Monksmead! Mr Cooper thoroughly enjoyed Tuesday’s performance as did Mrs Cooper, Mrs Alexander, Mrs Bigland and the parents and carers that came to support our super talented children.

Over The Rainbow.
All children in years 3 and 4 entertained delighted audiences of parents, carers and guests with their pantomime version of the classic story, “The Wizard of Oz”. Two parallel casts had some speedy costume changes to negotiate as they acted, sang and danced their way through the show.
