Welcome to Year 6!
This term our topic is World War 2!
In English, we will be looking at a range of texts, including eye-witness accounts based on World War 2. We will also be exploring a range of genres inspired by The Spiderwick Chronicles.
In Maths, we will be continuing to focus on revising and improving our fluency. We will also be further developing our reasoning and applying skills.
Please help us practise where you can, especially by supporting your child with learning the time, using money and with their multiplication and division facts.
Our History will be learning about World War 2 and life at the time; we will also be visiting Bentley Priory for the day which used as the Headquarters for Fighter Command during the Battle of Britain. Our learning about WW2 will inspire many other areas of our curriculum.
In Art, we have been makling detailed drawings of planes from WW2 and are now exploring some of the posters from this time. In Design and Technology, we will be using our understanding of structures to create our own Anderson Shelters.
