Maths task

Friday - Times table activity – Sorting cards

Choose two different times tables (e.g. 3s and 4s)

Write down the answers up to 12 for those times tables on separate pieces of paper so you end up with a small pack of cards.

Example:

4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40, 44, 48

3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, 30, 33, 36

You should end up with 24 cards.

Place these in the middle of a room.

Using 3 pieces of paper, label 3 different corners/sides of the room with “3 times table”, “4 times table” and “3 and 4 times table”. Your job is to now turn over one of the cards in the middle of the room and you have to place it in the correct labelled corner as quickly as possible e.g. if I turned over the card 24, I would have to place it in the “3 and 4 times tables” corner.

You can do this as an individually or with a member of your household.
