We have not been able to run buddy groups for some time. We really hope that we will have more news about them in the Summer Term, so for now, watch out for information in the newsletters.

Buddy Group Session December 2019

Our Year Six did a sterling job organising, preparing and running their very first Buddy Group Session last term. Making all of their teachers proud at their confident delivery and patience with our younger children in the session.

The theme of our PSHE lessons last term - " Celebrating Difference" was showcased so vividly,clearly and brilliantly in the session by all of our children from our delightful Year One's right up to our wonderful Year Six.

The extremely talented Year Six had created, prior to the session, jigsaw posters for the children to add their individual pieces, which were all put together to make a unique and very special Meryfield jigsaw. Please take a look at some of our work.

Buddy Groups at Meryfield

Our wonderful Year 6 run a Buddy Group Session each term. They are given the challenging task of "teaching" a group of about 20 children ranging from Reception right up to Year Five. (Quite a task, ask any teacher!)

After choosing a theme, they put together games and activities for the session. 

Our last Buddy Group session's theme was friendship.

Using the ideas sheet, the Year 6 children prepared their lessons meticulously and 

in just one hour each group made their own scrap book.
