Welcome

Dear Parents / Carers,

On behalf of the staff, governors and children I would like to welcome you to Meryfield Community Primary School. We hope you will find us to be a very happy and friendly school, where children and staff really enjoy working together.

We aim for each child to reach their full potential - both educationally and socially - and believe that all children should be valued for their individual skills, talents and interests. Our team of committed and enthusiastic staff strives to nurture the children through high quality learning and teaching experiences and by delivering a stimulating, creative and challenging curriculum.

Our latest Ofsted report, in July 2016, recognised the school as providing a “Good” education for its pupils. It states that:

"Meryfield Primary School promotes a love of learning” and that “pupils enjoy coming to school, learn well and their behaviour is exemplary.”

“Pupils develop positive attitudes towards learning. This is due to the calm, nurturing ‘whole-child’ approach that the school adopts towards ensuring that their needs are fully met. Pupils develop a self-assurance and resilience in their time at Meryfield Primary School.”

All parents who responded to Parent View, (Ofsted’s online parental questionnaire), said that “the staff ‘work in a spirit of partnership with parents and that Meryfield has a ‘strong, caring and supportive ethos’…….”

As the comments above suggest, we greatly value working in partnership with you, as no one knows your child as well as you do. We, therefore, operate an ‘open door’ policy, encouraging you to visit and become actively involved in your child’s learning.

We continually evaluate and review our provision to ensure the best possible learning opportunities for each child, for example: cutting edge computing resources, a well-stocked library and a wide range of quality resources across all curricular areas. We are also fortunate in having extensive grounds for sports and outdoor learning, including a wildlife area for science enquiry and exciting play areas for each Key Stage.

I hope that you find this website useful and informative. Please feel free to contact the school with any queries you may have. We are very proud of our school and would be delighted to meet you and show you around.

Yours sincerely,

Alex Gage
