Meryfield PHSE - Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHE)

At Meryfield Primary School, PSHE supports children’s personal development, wellbeing and understanding of the wider world. Through an age-appropriate curriculum aligned with statutory guidance and the PSHE Association framework, we help pupils develop the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to lead healthy, safe and fulfilling lives.

We deliver PSHE through the Jigsaw programme, a mindful, whole-school approach that promotes kindness, inclusion and belonging. Jigsaw follows a progressive spiral curriculum, revisiting key themes each year to deepen understanding and build resilience over time. Children explore six core areas: Being Me in My World, Celebrating Differences, Dreams and Goals, Healthy Me, Relationships, and Changing Me.

Jigsaw also meets all statutory requirements for Relationships and Health Education, supporting children to build positive relationships, understand their wellbeing, and feel confident as they grow and change. At Meryfield, we are committed to nurturing well-rounded, respectful individuals who are prepared to thrive in an ever-changing world.

We will be providing updated guidance once we have reviewed our policy in line with the new guidance and content for September 2026.
