When can my child start Nursery?
At Meryfield we take children into our Nursery the term after they turn 3 years of age. Eg if your child turns 3 in November, they could join us in January.

You should apply for a nursery place within the time frames set out in the table below.
Please Note; you may still be able to apply outside of these time frames, if you are interested please contact the school office.

Children can join the Nursery if they are 3 years old before the 31st December 2026.

Reception Admissions September 2027
Reception admissions are managed by the Herts Admissions Team.
Applications for Reception places for September 2027 will open on 1st November 2026 and close on 15th January 2027.
Applications after this date may still be made, but they will be considered to be late.
Please note: having a Nursery place is no guarantee of a main school place. There is a separate application procedure for Reception class.
