Meryfield Science
At Meryfield Primary School, our science curriculum builds on children’s natural curiosity and their understanding of the world around them. We aim to inspire awe and wonder, encouraging pupils to ask questions, explore ideas and develop a deeper understanding of how things work.
Through practical, hands-on experiences and enquiry-based learning, children develop essential scientific knowledge, skills and vocabulary. They learn to observe carefully, investigate confidently and think critically about the world they live in.
By the time pupils leave Meryfield, they are well prepared for the demands of the secondary science curriculum, equipped with strong foundations in scientific understanding, curiosity and confidence in their ability to explore and explain the world around them.

Science Club
Our Science Club provides children with the opportunity to explore science in a fun, creative, and hands-on way. The club is designed to spark curiosity, encourage questioning and develop a sense of excitement and wonder about the world around them.
Through practical experiments, investigations and problem-solving activities, pupils are encouraged to think like scientists — making predictions, testing ideas and learning from results. Activities are often linked to real-life contexts, helping children to see how science is part of their everyday lives.
The Science Club aims to build confidence, teamwork and resilience, while nurturing a love of science beyond the classroom. Above all, it provides a safe and enjoyable environment where children can explore, experiment and have fun with science.
