Year 2

Welcome to Year 2.

This term our main theme this is The History of Flight.

In English, be continuing to focus on writing quality sentences that make sense, using conjunctions, adjectives and adverbs. We will study a range of fiction and non-fiction texts, such as: In My Heart; The Crow’s Tale; The Building Boy; and Sharks.

In Maths, we will be continuing to focus on securing our understanding of place value and addition and subtraction. We will also learn about multiplication and division as well as telling the time. Please help us by practising where you can; see below for useful online links to help your child at home.

Our History will be based on The History of Flight; this will involve learning about and from significant people and the first flying machine.

In Geography, we will be finding out about hot and cold places. We will begin to use our map skills and an atlas to discover more about the world.

In our Art, we will be moving on to developing our expressive painting skills and in DT we will be making and tasting a variety of dips.
