Welcome to Year 2

Welcome to Year 2This term our main theme this is Explorers.

In English, we will start with a focus on handwriting, presentation and ensuring our sentences make sense.  We will do this through exploring a range of texts including ‘Grandad’s Island’, ‘Wombat Goes Walkabout’ and ‘The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark’.

In Maths, we will be focusing on place value, counting and ordering numbers; we will also work on addition and subtraction.  Please help us by practising where you can; see below for useful online links to help your child at home.

Welcome to Year 2

Our History will focus famous explorers, including Christopher Columbus, Captain Scott, Neil Armstrong and Katherine Johnson.

In our Art, we will be considering the idea that artists can be collectors and explorers and how they look at things in new ways to inspire their art.
