Year 3

Welcome to the Summer term in Year 3.

In English, we will be reading a variety of different fiction and non-fiction texts and writing in a range of genres. Throughout the term, we will be focusing on sentence structure, punctuation including inverted commas, prefixes and suffixes.

In Maths, we will be learning about fractions, multiplying by 10, written multiplication and division, problem solving, telling the time (analogue and digital) and working out duration of time problems.

In Science, our topics are Forces and Magnets in Summer 1 and Plants in Summer 2.

In Geography, we will learn about South America. 

In History, we will be learning about Ancient Egypt. We will consider where Ancient Egypt was and why the River Nile was important, what life was like for people, the role of pharaohs and why they were important leaders and beliefs about gods and the afterlife, including mummification.

In Art we will be making animated drawings.

In PSHE, our topics are Relationships and Changing Me. In RE we will be learning about Sikhism and Islam.
