Medicine in School
Staff are not permitted to routinely administer any form of medication to children and as much as we would like to help, this is your responsibility. Under no circumstances must children bring any form of medication to school.
If there are medical problems with your child please inform us and an appropriate care plan will be written. You are welcome to come into school to administer medication yourselves.
We are not allowed to treat cuts and grazes with anything other than water.
Children who are known to us for having a nut allergy can have an epi-pen in school and staff are trained to administer this should an emergency arise.
Inhalers
If your child uses an inhaler, please inform the school and complete the confidential medical record for asthma inhaler users so that the school is fully aware of any emergency procedures and the use and storage of inhalers.
